Becoming the Totally Responsible Person®

Prerequisite: 4-hour introductory TRP® workshop or the Totally Responsible Leader® workshop

   
 

Participants review the components of the victim mentality and its opposite, the Totally Responsible Person®. They then delve deeper into the subtleties of the victim mentality and discover eye-opening ways in which it can manifest in all areas of life: work, relationships, and health. More important, they acquire powerful tools and techniques, release victim attitudes, assume the TRP® role, and solve specific problems and issues that have previously seemed intractable.

   
 

These same tools are applied to organizational behavior, thus enhancing teamwork, commitment, and productivity. The Ten Commitments of Group Work are introduced and discussed. The importance of fundamental human qualities or character traits, especially respect and responsibility, are discussed and fostered using exercises and follow-up activities. Participants make specific plans to foster and manifest various character traits as a path to success at work, home, and every aspect of life.

   
 

The insidious effects of "rescuing and enabling" are brought to light through exercises, powerful simulations and role plays. Participants develop awareness of their personal tendencies to rescue others, and how they seek to be rescued by others. They learn how to fix these situations and thus foster everyone's growth.

   
 

"Limiting beliefs" of individuals, groups, and organizations are identified and replaced with more appropriate and productive ways of seeing life. Participants identify their own beliefs such as, "I'm just human," or "I don't have enough time," and then learn the techniques of replacing them and expanding their vision.

   
 

Participants identify real-life work situations, then brainstorm and plan to solve them in a "TRP® way." The training group's collective wisdom, now enhanced by the knowledge of TRP®, becomes a powerful tool in this process.
